I use a self warming dog bed for Maya. Which is basically a bed with a weather proof cover and a Mylar pad in it. A piece of Relectix works just as well but is a bit slippery by itself.
Worked out great last year with her wearing a thick quilted dog coat on with it at night.

I wonder if the park maintenance keeps the road plowed from the entrance?

As far as I know only the state route is maintained and on the county road leading in but not inside the park.

Going to do something new this year. The Purdy Boil contest ! Participated in this at the Fall Yates Hang. It was a blast ! For Heet or alcohol stoves stoves. It's highly competitive and there's a bunch of smack talking . Everyone welcome to enter. Probably on Saturday mid morn. Prizes involved !

Hickery is the reigning alcohol stove champion
His victory at Yates made me mad!
It’s bad enough for Peeeeetey to win
    And now a hillbilly
I must have redemption at Grayson Highlands

Undaunted from past defeats, just like Wile E. Coyote, a foolproof plan has formed in my superior mind

I will easily smoke y’all! I’ll be drinking my hot coffee while y’all are settling for iced decaf...
That is unless your mug freezes solid

I’ll see y’all boys at Grayson...

I thought you was a wannabe fireman
Hickery, if I get 3rd degree burns, wrap me in gauze like the mummy

The challenge is to all hammock campers at Grayson Highlands

Hammock campers, when you win this one...
You will have defeated two past champions...Peeeeetey and Hickery
Both professional coffee drinkers and both able to tell stories that start out true enough and get better over time

I’m guaranteed to smoke both y’all critters
You’ve been scouted by my team
Only problem, unknowns are going to enter and burn through the pack taking first place
If that happens, I’m gonna quit drinking coffee, and never tell another lie...
