yeah, I have out grown about all my winter clothes and unfortunately just don't enjoy it like I used to.
I can still feel some of the excitement and remember good times in the winter but the last several years of getting out in it made me decide it's just not my cup of tea anymore

Guess I'll just leave it to you young fellers

    But thanks for asking.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

I'm looking forward to learning how to set up my rig for cold weather hammocking. I met some of the winter hang participants at the Grayson Highlands Fall Festival and was impressed by their knowledge and eagerness to share it.

    You gonna need insulation
Pads, top quilts, underquilts, sleeping bags
King size bed quilts placed inside hammock under and one thrown over top of you and hammock
Nalgene water bottles with hot water will last most all night
    Warm headgear
    Hand warmers foot warmers
Several layers or more of warm clothes
    Loose dry wool socks

Use any or all of above and more to stay warm

While being careful not to overheat and sweat
If your clothes get wet from sweat, it takes a while to dry out

The kind of things Mr Grappler mentioned are good things to have... not necessarily all at once but... as long as you have extra room in the car/ truck you are driving, you can bring extra stuff.
That way, you can switch or add as needed.

A few questions to help see if there is anything you might need to bring from home or borrow...
Have you spent much time hiking/ camping in winter?

How cold temps have you slept in your hammock?

What kinds of insulation do you have for your hammock?

Do you have winter clothes to keep you warm?
One of my biggest issues with camping in colder temps are the right clothing to stay warm in camp, especially when there is a lot of inactivity, particularly my feet.
Closed foam pad is great for sitting and resting your feet on.

Not assuming you don't already know stuff but since I don't know your situation, I just want to be sure you (and everyone else) are safe and happy.

If I remember correctly, the weather station is at the Ranger Station. The campground is another few hundred feet in elevation above the weather station and the highlands themselves are another few hundred feet above that. Chances are wind and snow could be a little more prevalent at that those locations. At least the campground is somewhat sheltered by the trees. But alas, there are no leaves, so the wind whistles through the branches a lot more in winter!
