    Best Advice: find someone at a group hang who has one and try it out to see what you think before you buy.

    They are way cool, roomy, comfortable, but heavy to tote, and not everyone is going to want to switch. [I use mine only about 25% of the time]

    heavy is very relative..

    it's not like it's a 12 pound kit

    my hiking baseweight with the draumr is still only 13lbs (no food/water obviously) so it's not like you're toting a boat anchor




    no where near ultralight by any means, but unless you're doing a LOT of up/down, or long distances, it's not a big weight penalty for the comfort gained


    I will also contend it's the best kayaking hammock out there, since if you magically end up somewhere with no trees, you can still sleep bivvy style on the ground super comfortably
