The line loc v hold both the 1.2 and dutch wire very well, without the need of a half hitch. Even when wet.
The dutch wire is a bit stiffer and thinner. Even with a half hitch, regular loc 3 have difficulty holding and not jamming in strong winds. The ends burn together a bit better with wire too.
Never thought about adding a v to existing locs, nice idea.

I've been using 1.8mm dyneema arborist throwing line with Dutch's line lock hooks on my tarp in all weather. Its never slipped. Adjustment is so quick. I wish I could get similar 1.8mm dyneema line which is reflective. I've lost count of the number of times I've tripped on my lines when getting out at night. They are bright coloured but sadly, they do not reflect

I recently got a new tarp and tied some loops of 1/8” shock cord that I larksheaded onto the rings. Works fine with my reflective line and line locs. I forget what type of line it is but had it laying around so used it. It is as thin as zingit but probably not as slippery.

I using this set up on all my tarps now and prefer it over anything else I’ve come up with. Really like how the shock cord makes the whole thing “self adjusting” so to speak and the Lin locs make set up quick.

For clarity sake, it's a simple straight cut into the V (or U shape) that is already there. The first pass of the cord through the modified lineloc sort of burns the right shape into the lineloc material and you're good to go.

I have been a fanboy of Tarp Worms for a few years and all four tarps use them. I would tie a double loop of black 1.2 Z-Line through the d-ring and Tarp Worm in order to attach them (DCF tarps so no tensioners needed). The Lineloc Hooks work fine for now, but once what I have on my project table I'll work on sewing the standard Loneloc V's on in place of the d-rings, since I don't need/want the guy lines to be removable.

There is a little more to the line lock V than just the shape of the notch. I don't think you can modify the LineLoc3s into a line lock V. I had to have a mold built to make a line lock that worked well with under 1.5 mm line

I'm really like the Line Lock Hooks with the reflective 2.3mm line, it seems to hold very well. I am gonna shorten the shock cord loops that are larks headed to the tarps D rings though. As you can see in the pic above, they are quite large lol.
