Custom Goosefeet Gear DCF/ Cuben Fiber 900 FP Down Vest and Sleeves size XL/XXL

    Hi All!

Up for sale is my custom down vest with matching down sleeves from Ben at Goosefeet Gear. I bought these from the original owner (Jolly Green) and they are both in immaculate condition. Everything used to fit me extremely well ( I had 51 inch chest and have broad shoulders and long-ish arms), but I lost weight and this is a just a bit roomy now.

The sleeves are crafted similarly to the Jacks R Better down sleeves, which is an awesome and extremely versatile design.
Below is a write up about this jacket directly from the website. This includes weights, products used etc. Please check it out for more info!!

    https://goosefeetgear.com/project/ve...vable-sleeves/

    SIZE: Custom
TOTAL WEIGHT: Vest: 6 OZ | Sleeves: 3 OZ
    FABRIC: Cuben Fiber
FILL: 4 OZ of 900 DownTek down fill

    Vest: 4 OZ 900-fill down | Sleeves: 2 OZ 900-fill down

FEATURES: Collar, full front zip, adjustable waist, adjustable arm holes, removable sleeves attached to each other with elastic strapping, adjustable shockcord wrist cuffs.

I would like to get $140 Shipped (which is actually probably the cost of just the Cuben Fiber used to make it lol)

Please let me know if you have any questions at all!!! Thanks,

    Carter, I wear a size 44-46 suit. Shirt size is 17" neck and 32" - 34" sleeve.
I have a feeling this will be swimming on me. Now that you've lost weight, what sizes are you wearing?
    Thoughts on fitment?
No pockets that I see, right?

Your descriptions says both 900fp and 950fp.. would you clarify please?
Also, what is the fabric weight on the DCF?
And how does it feel? Is it crinkly? Noisey?

Are there gaps between the sleeves and the vest?

Interested in this setup for a while. Had a pair of JRB sleeves I kind of regret selling..
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

    Hi Mike!

I can still wear this at my current size, no problem. I just want something a tad more form fitting to save some extra weight. Your measurements honestly sound like they might work (especially with layers). I know fit can be finicky, that is one reason why I am offering it for decently cheap since you won't be able to try it on.

It is 900 FP I believe. I am not sure on the weight of DCF. Seems to have held up extraordinarily well. It has softened up and is nowhere near what a DCF tarp might sound like.

    No pockets

The sleeves fit the jacket extraordinarily well. The elastic could be altered for a tighter fit if need be. I mean, technically there are gaps because they are separate, but there is not a visible one when worn.

    Hope that helps!

I'll take them... if only to appease my curiosity.

I paired my set of a JRB sleeves with a no-name vest. Sleeves were a bit short for my arms, but otherwise great, but the vest was plagued with issues... huge gaps at the shoulders, no DWR and a fabric that didn't block wind much. Without a shell the vest was nearly useless. I have been intrigued by the vapor barrier concept and really like the modularity. The sleeves can double as down booties if needed.

I have your email address... I'll send funds later tonight.
