This does not deny the use of hammocks. It probably would result in a citation, but it would need to be proven that the attachment of the hammock strap actually mutilated or defaced the tree. And those words will also have a level of impact to meet the legal definition of what constitutes mutilation of defacement.
So if you got a spare $20K or more to fight the citation through the Co. courts go for it. I don't.
