    Fabric channeling - last Sean to see then pull inside out and hand finish the 18"-20" I left open to pull it through. Wish me some luck fellas.
    This stupid bugger is so thick it's really hard to work with.

    All right here she is in her almost finished glory. First pic should illustrate it all. nearly 4" of loft around the perimeter and nearly 3" of loft more towards the center. I have made some errors in the channeling - mainly how it got all sewn in and I will have to repair that and install the primary suspension and the end cinches but she is nearly done and ready to try tomorrow. Trip will be at nearly 10,000 ft mere miles from the top of Cameron Pass here in CO. 1/15-1/19. Will film and give results on my return.
    As far as things I would do differently - I wouldn't try doing this late at night I made a lot of errors simply not imagining it or drawing it out first. Ohh well. Live and learn

    That's a very good question. I forgotten. I'll have to check that out when I get home. I know when you look on rip stop by the rolls website It's one of their breathable fabrics that's calendarized on one side. One of the low weight varieties.

    I have suspension issues - 1/8" doesn't seem strong enough - quilt is too heavy

I had exactly the bunching and gapping at first on my DIY quilt (made with Apex 5, I believe) mainly because I originally used grosgrain to form the end channels. That was so dissatisfactory that I ripped it out and remade the end channels with nylon left over from the build. That more or less cured the issue, but your idea of just having less material to bunch up might be even better.

    If you'll continue to update as you go and maybe share a photo or two, I'd appreciate it. Depending on how yours works out, I might be inspired to take mine apart and cut down the ends to achieve the same thing.
    Thanks.
    Finally got the Suspension fixed I think!! Take a peek at the last photo but I think the Darting helped to create a shape like the Hammock Gear UQ's in that I have like a leg shelf. Anyhow I Will be testing it tonight although temps won't be anywhere close to the limits - I believe this is good to like -10* but here is how she looks in the yard tonight;

    Pics 3 and 4 show what looks like a really good seal on the hammock. And the quilt itself looks quite lofty and warm. The blue color also stands out nicely against the snow.
