Is that the label from the HG day pack? I did some digging around and found this:
    https://hammockgear.com/day-pack/

Licensing products for overseas production is pretty commonplace nowadays.

No apparently it's supposed to be a hammock but everything else in the content suggests it's actually a tarp. I'm not sure that the person selling it knows what it is they have. To be honest I have no idea what they have either but that label made me curious.

Well spotted and interesting find...thanks for that.

Looks like that label could be legitimate then going by the wording used for that day pack?

What product is that from? I know they sold those fifteen dollar day packs from China. If they move production of any of the quilts or hammocks to China, that will be a problem for me. I never bought that pack and won't. They're trying to handle their growth, but they've stated a desire to keep manufacturing ops in the US for quilts. We shall see. Everybody has a price. I know the fabrics all come from China, but I still like the quality control and job creation of making them stateside.

Aren't their Journey and Quest tarps made in China?

@Cabmanhang I think Clisbyclark may have hit on it...everything suggests that it is a Tarp and not a hammock which is what I suspected. The label threw me off entirely.

If they are it doesn't seem to be obvious/disclosed when looking at the HG website.

Perhaps someone from HG could give some input over what is and isn't made overseas.

Speculation without facts to back it up just leads to further confusion.

To the OP: what is the source of the original image that started this whole thing?

Prettly clearly stated on the All Hammock Tarps page...

All of Hammock Gear's tarps are made with pride in the USA.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

There was a run of journey and quest tarps that were outsourced a year or so ago. They were manufactured overseas and sold ready to ship and at a discount compared to the custom USA made ones.
