It seems there's a mix of USA made and overseas products on their website, and not always easily discernable. Great products but one needs to be aware when purchasing.
Their tarp sleeves are made over seas and im perfectly happy to have one on my dyneema tarp.
Ps they are also lighter then my other sleeves.
Maybe it was designed by Hammock Gear and the label is just incomplete:
DESIGNED BY HAMMOCK GEAR
STOLEN BY CHINESE KNOCKOFF
MADE IN CHINA
That was kind of what I initially thought it may have been, but after seeing the Day Pack and limited run explanation it doesn't seem to be some brazen rip off. I should probably have held off and asked the folk at HG directly about it. I would be interested to know the spec. if this is/was part of an official limited run. I tried searching the web but I drew a blank...the force isn't with me on this one.
Here is a link to another forum post about the tarps. I forgot they had named them quest II and Journey II.

Back when HG sold both the Journey and outsourced “Journey II” I read through the reviews of the “Journey II” (some on the HG site) and decided to go with the domestic Journey 12’ version. It’s a good tarp. The “Journey II” apparently had enough quality issues that HG discontinued it several months later. There was a decent price difference when new, maybe $40-50?
Thanks for the info. I have been poking about and found some more info about the Journey II on old threads on HF. The only significant detail in those threads was the sale price in Dec 2018 of $79 for the JII.
I already have a US made 12' Journey. I was considering buying that JII as a spare and to loan to people I try to bring over to the dark side. I will have to mull it over a little longer before I make a final decision. I'm not sure it's worth it if there were quality issues even if it's only intended to be used as a spare/loaner.
this may be a good loaner tarp and it's cheap and made in the US but there is only 2 left and it's in Camo: https://ripstopbytheroll.com/product...31277457670192
