    -=CANCELLED=-MA > Pearl Hill State Park > 2020 Women's hang -=CANCELLED=-

    ---===CANCELLED===---

    Hello Ladies!!!

    We are hosting another women's hang and this time it will be in Central Massachusetts in Townshend at Pearl Hill State Park-- a lovely park with lots of nice trees to hang from.

    What it is:

    A friendly hammock hang car camp open to all women and girls regardless of hammock hanging expertise, new and old hangers welcome! Friendly dogs welcome but please check the campground rules if bringing a dog. (may need proof of rabies or other vaccinations and be on leash). This is a family friendly venue.

    What to do:

    Hang out (ha, ha- aren't I a card?), cook, relax, kibbitz, eat, hike, mountain bike, play card or board games, or bocce or whatever anyone brings etc. there may be swimming too for the hardy.

    When:

    Show up Friday afternoon and stay through Sunday or any iteration thereof. We will have reserved a few sites close to each other; hang your hammock, we will set up a kitchen area and you can bring your cooking stuff over there if you like, and the kitchen will have the group fire ring, Don't forget chairs to sit on! and tables to cook on as we will have probably only one picnic table per site. If anyone has large tarps and or easy up shelters please bring them in case of rain.

    Other details:

    Bring your own food and plan on making something for the potluck. People generally cook many things at many times and share, but if you have certain food allergies you may want to bring your own to make sure you don't get sick. We will definitely have a potluck for Saturday night so bring or make a dish to share.

    Cost: not sure, we need to cover the sites reserved and then we will need to pay for wood for the fire so that is about $5.00-6.00 a bundle unless someone lives very close by and can bring a bunch of local wood. You should not bring wood unless you are local to make sure we don't spread any diseases or nasty critters from one area to another. It could be as much as $20.00 depending on how many people show up.

    Bring some games to play if you like, bikes, boats, hiking boots.

    What to bring for camping gear: We will likely need to have some lanterns so that would be good, bring rain tarps or ez up shelters, stoves, etc for cooking all that camping stuff.

    The sites: We are looking to reserve site 8, 7, 4, 5 at the campground. I have already reserved site 5. We will let everyone know more which sites we will be at as it gets closer

    To reiterate:

    Any woman is invited, and if you are a newbie do not fear!!! We have lots of experience and extra gear so just give a shout out for anything you might need. Many of us have multiple set ups so we can accommodate folks I am sure. If you are just on your own don't worry, we are very friendly so come and join us, the more the merrier.

    I will try to get a sign up sheet soon but I am somewhat impaired in that department: just sign up for the dates you will be there, a way to get in touch and what you might bring for group camping gear.

    I want to try to make it, and if I can get off from work, it will be me and my sister. I'll have to wait a couple weeks to get the okay.
