So wanted to put it out there that I will have room in the truck for a passenger or two. Although I think Mark and myself might stay till Monday morning.

That's very kind of you guys...

Unless anyone has a spot that they'd rather everyone go to, I'm going to make for the "point" on Friday sometime between 10am and noon after dropping my daughter off in Vaughan around 7-8am.

According to the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trail map, Troutspawn Lake Road appears to be "unavailable" while the trail down the west side of the lake is deemed to be of "limited availability". I'm hoping that this means that the road's open to cars and trucks and we can drive most of the way to the lake, although we'd still have to park back by Hwy 60 as usual. Hopefully the lake is solidly frozen as well, but if not or we're not sure, we can take the snowmobile trail south for the first couple of hundred yards and then cut east.

Incidentally, just out of curiosity, who's planning on coming out next weekend?

If you guys could figure out a way to go ice fishing in the middle of a forest, we'd be able to have the pleasure of your company. I still remember those perogies!

Maybe they want to brave my army hot-tent and go for some of those elusive Niger specks. You know, show the rest of us how it's done!

If not, don't forget the bacon, onions and sour cream!

I'm planning on coming thanks to Iguana's Inreach. Planning sometime Friday morning.
Couple questions. Is there snow from car to camp? Will it be easy for me to find camp if I come in solo along the snowmobile trail? and finally, I've never ice fished before. is it ok to use my regular rods instead of one of those little ice rods?
Hanging in the woods, paddlin and catching trout- My kind of living...
