You should be able to hold the looped part of the hitch strap and pull the loose tail of the becket hitch up and loosen it. Granted your weight pulled it tight so you WILL have to fight it too. I would pry it apart with a Philip's head screwdriver.
For future hangs I would use a slip knot variation of the becket hitched. See photo.

Put thin cloth, like a T-shirt, one layer, both above and below knot. If no T-shirt use paper or a plastic shopping bag. This is to protect your strap or rope.

Gently tap knot, several times,with hammer or smooth stone or stomp it with your heel (still in shoe)
This will cause knot to flatten out,somewhat. It will become pancake shaped, it will not be completely flat—it will still be higher in the middle.
Now that your knot is partially flattened, the rope or strap has had to travel a greater distance inside the knot. The greater distance means that your knot is looser than before. It might be loose enough to untie easily. If not, repeat and try loosening again

Could I ask a related question on tight knots? I’m using 2” Dutch hmwpe straps connected to the CL with a marlin spike (planning to ditch the hardware when I get better with setup). A couple of times it has required a very, very hard tug to release the knot, which is tightly cinched down. Should I be concerned that this knot might not release at some point( a problem in the middle of a multi day hike)? The straps are slick, but they roll and behave almost like a cross between strap and rope.
No reports of marlin spike hitch jamming or slipping!
A smooth crushproof toggle will make more reliable grip and smooth toggle easiest to remove
If you want a knot with no hardware and no toggle
You can join strap to amsteel with a slipped zeppelin bend
It should hold without fail and release easily in morning Well suited for joining rope and strap together even though different shapes, thickness and textures
A zeppelin bend will also work
Slipped zeppelin bend release is fast and easy
