I've seen a couple of videos where a person has one tree to hang their hammock and then they use a larger branch/log/stick on other end. They make a rough point on one end so it someone sticks in ground and won't kick out. They tie hammock suspension to Stick/log/branch and then on other side bring the rope down and tie into the ground, or a tree stump, rock etc.......
I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this??? If so what know are you using to go around stick/log/branch and then on other side continue to ground? I saw someone indicate it should be equal on both sides. So go to middle of one and then come out middle of other side to put equal force on both sides????
A clove hitch is what came to mind but it would have the ropes coming along one side so not sure that would work.
