Nice looking work. I'm impressed - I would recommend doubling your 1/8" shock cord if it is sagging. At least give you a chance to try it out. I agree 4 1/2 pounds ISN'T too heavy for your application.

Could always beef up the shock cord size. I have a spool of tiny 1mm, and put clew tabs on a giant sleeping bag and heavy as it is it works well; clews are multiple connection points (9 in my case here) from each each of the UQ to one point at your CL or so, so there is a buunch of that ‘tiny’ holding that very heavy sleeping bag and that just happens to work well. If it were gathered en style the two strands would NEVER hold it up. There are all sizes of shock cord out there in the intertube to try, hobbylobby has thick 1/8” stuff thats really powerful like 10’/$4
