This getting a little far from “WarBonnet”. So to bring it back a bit. When I use my WARBONNET hammock in a campground, I realized I didn’t need to find two trees. Usually, in their wisdom, the park designers leave trees BETWEEN camp sites so the people in adjacent sites get to have a friendly discussion about which site the trees belong too. But I can just wrap around one tree and have always been able to back the car in so I can tie off the other end on the luggage rack. As for Cots, if needed, I carry a Tent-Cot. It’s a cot that comes with a rectangular enclosure with four screened windows. It has four “legs” - two towards the middle and two on each end. And it has a complete rainfly. Footprint is about 3 x 7 ft. Packs to about 3 x 3 ft x 6 inches. Weighs about 20 lbs - not usually for backpacking.

But it is not as comfortable as my WARBONNET.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

I made mine out of a material that is mostly spandex because i didn’t want to worry about it not fitting. It adds considerable weight but allows the setup more space. I think it compresses better that way. However, I am more of a kayaker than a backpacker so size is not as important.

As for using it in winter, my setups are for down to about 45 and maybe as low as 28. That is Florida winter, but yes, I have lazy slugs for each setup.

The essential part of me can not be discussed here. Ask me in person.

Frees up more trees for hangers.

I realize there are some times when trees aren't available or hammocks are not permitted, so sometimes I'm tempted to pack one of my several tent/tarp/bivy options and see if I can still 'do it'..... but I have not yet mustered the courage.

Gonna hang this weekend!! I have to justify that 0deg Incubator and the HG Palace — primo pieces of kit which I've used precious little the last few years.

I was given a 0* Inc. for Christmas several years ago, and I am constantly asked if it is use. Let them know it is a key piece of kit for winters. Love it.

back the car in so I can tie off the other end on the luggage rack.
Be very careful doing so. Luggage racks are not designed to handle a sideways force. I worked at a place where I ordered a wide variety and styles of roof racks for customers and either installed them helped to install them on a wide range of vehicles and camper shells. Never saw one I would trust to hang from. Let Dixie keep her tent, more trees for me.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Wow! The congruence of Shug and Dixie might just blow up YouTube! It would certainly drive new eyes to each channel. It's worth the risk. I think you should do it.
