I'm going to switch to a tent so I can have more content on You Tube.
I jest.

As for me, I'd put more stock into Andrew Skurka's you tube videos.. He has hiked everywhere.....Now that dude is the epitome of an epic hiker. As for me I am happy just to get out on the trail. I've section hiked portions of the AT but don't have the time to do it all... Nor would I necessarily have the desire to do so, unless there was another motivating factor.
That would actually be a great collaboration!
I watched her latest video announcing the switch to hammocks, and she admitted that she was trying too much new stuff at the same time and that she didn’t have a good hammock setup to begin with. She also noted that she would reference “several online resources” that have been mentioned to her, and HF comes up often in the comments so I fully expect her to at least lurk if not fully involve herself in the discussions.
She also made a point that she has reached about as far as she can go experience wise with traditional tents, so in addition to the hammock she’s going to try UL tarp camping.
I think that this time around will be much better for her. She won’t be distracted from just trying to learn how to hike and has enough experience under her to adapt and adjust her hammock as needed.

That’s something that has become a recent interest of mine. Although in MD it doesn’t really get cold enough for long enough to get the full effect.
Oh yes, the wormhole of hot tents, as I mentioned above, has become my latest binge.
