I'm not into the whole YouTube "influencer" thing, but I have subscribed to her channel for years (along with a dozen other thru hikers and a dozen other backpackers). I have picked up tips from all of them. I think that Brandon gifting her a Wookie would help increase her chances of enjoying her hammock setup, though. Well worth the cost for the marketing exposure.

Some folks are making way too big of a deal about this. As popular as Dixie is, I doubt her review of Warbonnet gear is going to affect Brandon's bottom line significantly. Even if she decides hammocking is not for her (again), she will not trash Warbonnet- that's not her style. Folks who have purchased from Warbonnet in the past will continue to do so. And I'm sure folks who have never tried hammock camping will purchase from Warbonnet after watching Dixie's review- regardless of her decision.

Spot on. She swapped out an MHG pack for a different brand during her PCT hike because it didn’t fit her properly. That was well over a year ago and judging by how many packs they are selling (and now stocked at REI) I’m not sure it not fitting her made more than a handful of sales differences.

anybody that thinks she is going to bash warbonnet if she doesn't like the blackbird hasn't watched her videos

I believe she previously said she is a stomach sleeper.

If Dixie happens to come on here to learn something.. might she feel a bit "trashed"? Just thinking if I'd come on here the first time, if I saw the thread with my name on it, if I'd want to learn from folks here? Could go both ways I suppose..
I wish her the best of luck. Though I'd love for her to love hammocks on the 2nd try, I wouldn't be surprised if weight might be a deal breaker for her considering the hikes she tends to do!

Kudos to her for making a living at what she loves. Life is hard, no matter who you are.
I'll choose appreciation and kindness over sarcasm and judgment towards others I don't personally know.

There are so many good positive folks on this forum, some of which I've been fortunate to meet in person. I hope they continue to encourage and teach kindly, those of us who may seem like "idiots" or "undeservedly privileged" to others, but who genuinely want to love and enjoy the outdoors.

I would pay some major coin to see a Shug and Dixie series of videos.
