It wasn't a quick fall but yes I'm glad about the padding! And yes, had a eye splice/prussic.

Thank you sir. The only hammock I've ever laid in that was as comfortable is my big man's bridge with a pad pocket for the same Klymit V.

Tonight may have made me decide to not use UCR's again. Also I will always have a headlamp in my car. Using a flashlight and doing anything that requires two hands suck. Closing my eyes...right now it's 32 and I'm warm. OK, I'm really closing my eyes.

We all fall. It is how we deal with it as a learning experience.
Makes one take a serious look at ones choice of suspension.
I for one do not want my precious comfortable hang and sleep to be interrupted my a drop to the terra firma.

Tnx Shug. Glad I wasn't hanging above rocks or porcupines!

I have the Hammock V (which I, technically, got for my son) and I used it a couple trips ago (temps down around 65) and it was really warm and I could've gone a lot colder. I have a 40 degree Wooki now, so I suspect if I combine the two I can go pretty low. It didn't move much and I slept well on it.

    Klymit Insulated Hammock V
So as a update to this, I got out with it on 30 Deg nites. No undercover, it was just in the hammock.
It never felt warm. Not uncomfortably cold, but not warm like down would get after a while. The second night, I spread out a Thermoflect disposable blanket on the Hammock V. Things warmed up, but still no sensation of warmth like down insulation. For it's two pound weight, I had thought the Hammock V would have done better. More reascearch on this next cold season.
