Just in case anyone was wondering, I'm still planning to go on this trip. I think there are less than the recommended 10 people coming together for this and if we need to, we'll hike and hang 20 feet apart from each other to be practicing 'social distancing', . I figure the trees of the forest are probably healthier than being cooped up in the closed space of our homes.

So far so good for me as well. I also have 2 maybe's that may show up but won't know until the day of.

Also, do we know the total miles or we just going as far or little as we want to or can? Lol Any update or change in plans from the original?

I know were leaving Fri from Jumping off rock at 4:00pm but kinda wondering after that in case someone wants to meet up or catch up if they can't be there when we leave etc.
I've never been to this section so I'll need directions and where to park? I thought I seen two different places on the websites and trail apps.
Thanks to Shaw & PG for planning and invite.....

MooseMan, so far the original trip plan is still on. Friday get started around 4pm and hike in from Jumping Off Rock trailhead on Flint Hill Rd for about 1.5 miles.
Total mileage should be just over 12 miles.

Forecast subject to change, mainly wether weather is rainy or not
    Friday high 80 partly cloudy
Saturday morning low 61 high 75 mostly cloudy
Sunday morning low 53 high 70 partly cloudy
The temperatures forecast probably will not change much
Rain is not now forecasted, but can change to some rain
Just in case I’ll wear my hat!

I don't think this affects us but here are some Uwharrie closures: https://www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/nfsnc...ces/?aid=56853.
I hope you all aren't offended if I maintain 6+ foot clearance during our outing. I just want to be cautious while still enjoying the trip.

I'm keeping an eye on the closure notices. So far nothing clearly says hiking or primitive camping is closed.
