I live on the coast south of you and I have driven to Grayson to hang many times.

If you wanted to have a group hang at the Gorge, all you have to do is put out a feeler or two. (Side note: it ain’t that hard to convince a few Rats to hang out for a weekend ;P)

Or put out a feeler for Uwharrie and see if you can get some individuals to meet up. It’s only 4 hours from us, I live in Camden and it’s my new 2nd favorite spot.

Ya just missed a big one near Uwharrie in Morrow Mountain State park. "TSH" Hangsgiving2019 and it was Nov. 21-24. Maybe next year for you.

If you have a FB account. Join us on "Tarheel State Hangers" We have 4 group hangs a year put on by the group but then many small groups and individuals have planned or pop up hangs all around and different times of the year.
We are in the process and planning one in Feb. "Hearttrob Hang" somewhere EAST hopefully and another in May. "May-Lay" (Last May-Lay was at Lake Norman St Pk). I wouldn't look for anything (Dates, locations) until after New Years or the middle of Jan. to be posted.
We will attempt to post them here in the HF as well when we find out those dates etc.
