And like Need2noCallahan said, put out some feelers—PM personal messages to some likely backpackers who live near enough. Once you get a core group—say You and 2 or 3 other campers with a set weekend and place
All you gotta do is post it here on Hammock Forums in some threads—possibly in Outings and trip planning.
A good group might have 2 to 6 backpacking for 10 miles or so on a two and a half day weekend?!
Maybe meet and camp at a trail head on Friday afternoon. Anybody might get there after dark (Phantom Grappler) and everybody can be ready right after coffee and chow on Saturday am

Some trailheads post rules about not camping within so many feet of trailhead

Anybody can organize a hang including a generic You!!

I don’t know of any areas to have it down my way. The Croatan National Forest is still closed as far as I know. I have some property I could host it on but it’s not much of a hike. Maybe 200 yards from the parking area.

Any January hangs planned in NC?

    Let’s hike Uwharries
We can backpack camp and trek
Uwharrie Trail-Dutchman’s Creek figure 8 loop

We can start at Yates and or we can start at Woodrun Trailhead off of 24-27 just west of Troy

A good back stop is to leave one car at Yates and one car at Woodrun Trailhead. This will allow us to resupply and or cut trip short if we get ‘tarred’ or run out of time due to chillin or weather

We can do whole figure8 or just around half and save rest4 later

It’s around 20 miles give or take
Given my out to lunch capabilities, I’m open to just either top loop or bottom loop

Or using more than two days and finishing whole figure8 in one trip

Would like to start off with no rain in forecast
    Your thoughts
If you set a start day...I’m definitely maybe thinking of a feasibility study
    Let’s go

I have attempted the Dutchman’s loop to the Uwharrie trail 3 times and have yet to finish it. But that sounds good to me

Any January hangs planned in NC?

    I’m tempted2tempt it
I’m fixin to go early Early Dec 31 through Jan 1 and Jan 2. It could take until Jan 3 to get all way around. I’m not in good shape and my calf muscles are short, after hiking with pack one day with hills—I slow down even worse the second day
If you are interested in going2
Send me a pm and I’ll swap phone numbers

The worst that could happen is I get2 sore to continue and y’all have to leave me be. That’s ok
The Uwharrie Blood Creature makes short work of stragglers, crips and infirm.
On the plus side, after the UBC gets done with me...all my blood will be drained and I’ll be much lighter for rescue personnel...

Just think, I’ll be able to brag about living off fat of the land in Uwharries4 2 years!

The Croatan National Forest is still closed as far as I know
The Rangers keep closing the Neusiok Trail. Trying to find out when they plan to reopen all or part of it again. The Croatan NF is open, just certain locations have been closed like the Pine Cliffs Recreation Area.

Would like to start off with no rain in forecast
I hate to start a hike when it is raining. I am ok if it starts raining after I started.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
