Does anyone have any hangs planned for January in North Carolina? I’m wanting to attend a hang with other members and meet some new people.

I know there is one in February in SC! Join the Tarheel hangers page on facebook for NC hangs!

Grayson Highlands-Mount Rogers
The January weekend immediately following Martin Luther King holiday
January 25 25 26 Friday Saturday Sunday
Some early Early birds might be there Thursday
It’s car camping and there are hiking trails for short or long adventures
This is in Virginia near NC VA line near town

Go on Hammock Forums and check trip planning and outings
That one is about 9 hours from me. No way I can do that for a 3 day trip. Wish I could tho. Are there ever any closer to the coast?

You can always host one. The wife and I use to host hangs here in eastern NC at Medoc Mt SP and Merchants Mill Pond SP as they are the only two state parks with suitable group sites.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
And check Linville Gorge for hangs
I don’t remember their exact name
Maybe Gorge Rats
Or Linville Gorge camping group either on Facebook or on a Safari or Google search.
They are fairly active all 4 seasons. And they are not too far.
Ask Peeeeetey, and Shug and Hickery, and Rat Mama and Kenny Ray. Their memory and participation is better than mine for Gorge hangs.
I’ve been twice? It is a good group.
The Gorge Rats are at http://linvillegorge.net. I don't know that they have anything planned until May, but I could be wrong. Grayson Highlands is only 30 minutes further than the gorge from ENC, though.
I was planning on taking on the Fat Butt Hang this year. It's probably too late to get anything booked for January.
looking for a partner to help me host. I have some disabilities preventing me from doing it all myself. Not yet mention just the logistics involved is a lot for one person. If you're interested in collaborating let me know.
