    Superfly door closing

How does everyone rig their superfly doors so they can easily open and close them?

Just a small mitten hook clip on the end of 2-3' of shockcord (cord lock for adjustability). Also tie a 1" loop in the end in addition to the hook. That way you can put that loop over the opposing stake, OR clip the hook on to whatever is available (ring, grosgrain, guyline). You can even run the cord around whatever (sapling, tree, etc) and clip back onto itself if you don't close it all the way. I do that a lot to just make a big "wall" on the windward side.

I have roughly 18 inches of shock-cord at each door with a small loop at the ends. When not in use these shock-cords are tucked through the side tie-out loops and keep the doors back. To closed the doors, I stake them with slight overlap. The shock cords allow me to pass through without un-staking the doors.

About 18" of shock cord with mitten clips. To close the doors I clip them to the corner stake lines. They overlap a bit and make it quite snug. To keep them open, I run them thru the pull out D-rings and clip to themselves.

Ok so what I’m picturing is facing one end you right door has shock cord going to the left stake and vice Versa? What size shock cord?

I use shock cord threaded through a Lineloc Hook. Makes it easier to clip and adjust the length/tension when clipped to the opposite corner, opposite stake, straight to the ground in beak mode or pinned back to one of the side pullouts...
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

I also use shockcords but recently for closing the doors I don't go to the stakes but to the corner tie-outs. I m still playing around with this but for now I like how the doors overlap. I unhook at the door tie-outs for getting in and out.

I use a small carabiner with a lineloc prusicked on attached to each the d-rings on the doors and tie both doors out to the same stake with one piece of line . If I want to open one of the doors, I just unclip it from the biner. The doors don't overlap this way, but I added kam snaps to make sure that the doors don't have a gap.

I’m using the zpacks double hook apparatus

    https://zpacks.com/products/double-hook-apparatus-1

Hooks are too small for the triangles on the superfly so I added small glowire loops to the triangles. Works great and can be opened with mittens.
