To be honest, I've been coming to the Winter Hang since 2011 (only missed one in that time) and I don't know that we've ever had rain - or at least any significant amounts of it - though it did snow a couple times. There is usually a bunch of pop-up canopies set up near the group site, where Iafte and crew set up the kitchen, but otherwise there's not any sheltered area at Batona.

The tree cover there is decent, so it's possible we could build out a sheltered area using other canopies and tarps added on to the kitchen, if people bring them, though it wouldn't be near the fire pit.

I'm not looking forward to the rain, but I missed last year, so I'll be there.

I just did a weather search for Shamong. Slight chance of rain from 4am becoming more steady by 9 am. Heavy rains from around noon to 3 then by 5 it should be out of there. So nice nap time from noon to 3(ish) then we should be good for the festivities.

Had a good Friday at the Hang, but Saturday the ridgeline seam of my tarp leaked during heavy rain and wet my under quilt and hammock, so I had to up and leave early. :/

Hoping everyone enjoyed the chocolate cake-

I'm hoping to paddle the Mullica in March again, and try new set up gear.

I was torn between going on the Winter hang or going skiing. Sorry but I figured there would be more winter weather in Vermont so Skiing won. I really wanted to test my 0 degree quilts but the Pine Barrens wouldn't let me do that this year, maybe next year will be colder.
