Another hectic year but we are still on....
Hmmm, 13. Maybe Mother Leeds 13th child will make an appearance this year...
13th Annual NJ Winter Hang
When: Jan 24-26 2020
Where: Batona Camp, NJ Pine Barrens
MAP, it's the MAP!
Sign Up Sheet
Reservations:
2 people/cars per site. Lets let the NJ residents reserve first as it's cheaper.
Reserving a site is just to help us out since we can't just reserve the whole camp as one. Site A(Group site) is the Kitchen/Campfire area. If you reserve a site, you may not even stay on it so don't worry about grabbing the few that are sparse with trees.
Cost:
$10 for the weekend. Please see me to pay once you get settled.
If you reserve a site, see me to refund you the extra $$ you put out.
Rules:
No Alcohol is allowed in the State parks.
Travel coffee mugs are allowed...
There is a road that loops around the whole site and we need to keep that clear for the rangers to get around. Stopping to unload then moving to a final parking spot is acceptable.
There are camp limit signs, please try to have at least one end of your hammock inside the camp.
Tents are welcome but we ask that they be setup in places you couldn't setup a hammock. Tents also make a good storage location for stuff.
This is a drive in area, so you can bring extra stuff to stay warm. If you need anything, just ask before and people might help you out.
Food:
I have been doing a lot of thinking on this and while I love that it brings the best out of people I have noticed that most people do not contribute because they don't want to be in the contest so I am no longer going to do the Coup de grâce de grub. It may come back but I want to go back to the communal dinner on Saturday night. I will be presenting Porkroll with his Trophy for last years win after dinner.
So, what does this mean. Saturday nights dinner will be at 6pm. Everyone is encouraged to donate something. Plates, bowls, napkins, plastic ware... ect are encouraged but please post on the signup sheet that you are bringing them. Every other meal is fend for yourselves. I might be making pulled pork for lunch on Saturday so I will have some to share if you are around camp.
Raffle: If you have something you want to donate to the raffle I will have a spot setup for the donations.
50/50: We will be doing the 50/50 again this year and will once again be donating to Susan G. Komen. Last year I participated in Boston as well as Philadelphia. I will be back in Boston next year as they are no longer having it in Philly. Here is a link to my donation page for next year. If you make a $5 donation to the page before the hang, I will be finding something to raffle off just for those that donated to it.
Request: Is there anyone that can draw? I have an idea and wish to discuss it but don't want to put it out just yet... PM me please.
I am so looking forward to this as I really need some time in the woods.
