Hello from Ottawa - New to Hammocks

    Hello,
I have been camping all seasons since the early 90's. Lot's of canoe tripping and winter camping. Met my wife who had the same passion for backpacking. We even brought our Great Dane into the pack and started lugging our 3-man winter tent with us year round. Unfortunately, due to our dog’s health, we slowed down on backpacking for the past few years and stuck to drive to sites or basic day hiking. Sadly, back to two, my wife and I have started to update our main gear and have transitioned to hammocks during the past year. We have gone as low 0C in our hammocks and I am looking forward to going colder. I just need to get a little more creative with my gear.

Also looking for any Ottawa Valley group hangs (year round)

Currently using a Double Dutch setup.
Hammock: Dutch Chameleon wide and Kammock Roo double
Suspension: Kammock extenders as tree huggers and double whoopie hooks at the head end and Hummingbird hammocks whoopie slings with UHMWPE tree huggers at the foot.
Insulation: Massdrop Pine Down blankets modded for UQ/TQ (40F/5C), Therm-a-Rest UQ (30F/0C)
Tarp: Mountainsmith 12ft cat cut Montain Shade Tarp, Continuous ridgeline, Dutch bling, Snakeskins
Other: Chameleon moonlight TC, LSoH UQP, Dutch summer sock, LuminAID solar lights, Kammock ground tarp

    Planned changes:
Second Chameleon (should help with placement for double dutch setup)
DIY Hex tarp with Grizz beaks (for solo backpacking)
Wide winter tarp with doors and double pole mods (most likely from Dutch)

Hey Welcome from a long time member who has just returned from a long hiatus. There used to be hangs a couple of times a year, often organized by a member whose name eludes me at the moment. If I can jumpstart my memory I will chime back in.
