Definitely the latter as we're playing catch up from the sale still! Still have plans to get the Highland up, but the matter of when is still a mystery to some of us :-)

Sewn panels. These were actually made before Ripstop by the Roll came out with the first XL hammock fabric (1.6 HyperD XL).

Got my order in for the Appalachian. As probably the only one here that's never even been in a gathered end hammock, I figured this was as good as any to try out. (I went straight to a bridge hammock.)

    Hey guys!

We've listed the Highland Appalachian Hammock just now on closeout.

This is a wider (70"), lighter version of the Original made with 1.6 oz HyperD.

Still made in USA (Georgia to be exact) and just $35 until they're GONE.

Again, this is a one-shot deal and once they're sold out, that's it.

Just drop a comment below if you have any questions!

    Here's the link:

I got my Appalachian hammock a few weeks ago but just got around to unboxing it and installing some CLs on the ends. Maybe this is obvious to more experienced folks, but what's the deal with the webbing loops? I suppose the ones on the sides could be used as tieouts, UQ attachment points, or a variety of other purposes. But what about the ones on the ends? I guess, positioned on the outside, they could also be used for the ends of an UQ or UQP or on the inside to hook for a peak shelf? Is there some other purpose I'm not picking up on?

Personally, I'm planning to hang it with those end loops on the inside an attach a small gear hammock between the end and the first loop on the high side (opposite of my feet) to hold clothes and such.

I'm not entirely sure either, but I would "guess" they were orginally intended for proprietary add-on options (bugnet? cover? etc.). They act pretty well as CL/SRL keepers if you loop them over and run your lines through the loops. Works good too keeping my pillow up top when you run your pillow lines through it.

I would imagine there are applications for UQ's/bugnet/etc. attachment points.

I'll happily take as many loops as they're willing to throw on them. ;-)

Just picked up a 12' hex in 1.1oz silpoly for only $60! What a deal !!!!!!! They only had woodland camo available, but for the price I'll take it. It will replace my 12' Chill Gorilla hex that I've had for a few years now. It got A LOT of use and held up quite well considering it was an Amazon buy for around the same price. It's starting to show signs of wear that will eventually lead to failures unfortunately so its perfect timing on this tarp. Where else can you get a cottage made tarp for $60 ? Even with the Sil Net seam sealer, 4 line lock hooks & 50' of 2.3mm black reflective cord I'm still under $90..... Not bad!
