This month, I go winter camping with BK Noonan on a cold night in the White Mountains of New Hampshire where they talk by the fire on a wide variety of topics including hiking and winter camping. Great first solo trip! I liked the fireside chat in the field with BK segment. It reminded me a bit of Backcountry BS’ing with SBO. It just had a great, intimate feel to it. I have to agree - that book ‘This is Where You’ll Find Me’ is a great read. Sad story but well discussed & well presented. I was impressed with the audio quality out in the field. I did feel the ‘in house’ audio quality has a different feel…maybe a little ‘tinny’ or muffled/softer. I’m not an audiophile so I can’t express the proper terms for that. Is there a different mic setup used for those segments? Overall though, great first effort to continue the podcast! You haven’t lost this listener yet! Keep learning!

Thanks Benchmark! And glad you found the bonus, too...we enjoyed our Deadpool 4th wall sort of moment there.

Yes, I will keep learning--it is a fairly steep learning curve for me right now, sort of like a plane taking off, I am sure it'll level off at 30-thousand feet.

A little inside baseball...the long section of BK was recorded outside, the shorter section of BK was back in the car after we hiked out, all the other parts were VOIP recordings so need to work on how to 'pretty' those up. I would like them warmer sounding and there might be a way to do that post production, I will be checking. Note, the way I record the phone sections? I have set up to be really, really easy for the person calling in, they just call a phone number, I press a button, and boom, we are recording--it was very important to me that the process was quick and easy for the guest. If the guest can make a phone call? Perfect, that's all that is needed. I just need to work on the sound!

Anyhow, longer answer there but I don't mind sharing a little of what's behind the curtain.

December speeds up and chances for extended listening are few and far between. I've yet to hear the whole thing, but what I've listened to so far has impressed me. You did a fine job first time out the gate.
