    Hello From Ely MN

Hello my name is Jonas, I am new to the forums here. I have been hammock camping for about 4 years.( since I was 13). I started out in the bwca with a cheap Walmart hammock and tarp, and I fell in love with hanging in a hammock. I love testing new gear and making my setup more comfortable.
I have been winter camping in my hammock for the past couple years(not really cold, just around 10°F) Currently I have a pares hammock by SMR, a Jacks R Better Greylock 4 , along with a homemade 20° top quilt and the Nube by SMR. I also love fly fishing, canoeing, hunting, and basically everything outdoors.

Good to hear from you. Look forward to hearing about your experiences hanging.

Welcome. A good friend of mine had a "summer" camp on the lake at Ely during the mid 80"s thru late 90"s - it was seaplane access only. Beautiful area in the summer - I never experience the winters there (by choice

Welcome to the Hammock Forums! I’m in the process of writing the biography of a couple who lived most of their dog sledding career in Ely! It’s been fascinating pouring over tape recordings of their memories of their time in Ely. Course they lived there way before your time—back in the 70’s and 80’s.

    Welcome Jonas.

I love the Ely area. I'd really like to get back up there and dog sled camp.

    Friendly bunch here.
