I'm interested ... It will probably be a long haul up there, but not as bad as others. Will keep watching this thread ... and see what I can do ... I would stick to 7 to 10 miles per day, that way more people would come. I am not to sure about kids hiking 10 miles, mine poop out at less then 2 ...

I'm with Shug. I would like this northern adventure to be a backpacking hang. June 18-20 works for me.Is everyone up for this being a BACKPACKING HANG? ...... 7 to 12 miles per day? That is the way I like to roll and I think keeping the milage realistic gives time for lolly-gagging and social time. Still going to be a lot for those that have never backpacked. Just wanting to see what others prefer.

I'll be there, now we just have to nail down a date and place.
My first hang, I can't wait
I guess I had better get out and do a little training.

The Porcupine Mountains State Park looks like it might be a good location.

or another good spot may be the Sylvania Wilderness

Just a few more ideas...
THE JOURNEY IS THE DESTINATION...
If I were to vote...I would choose to do the Porcupine Mountains State Park and do a nice 20 mile loop trail. This could be done in a weekend by starting out at the lake of the clouds parking lot and using the "Lake Superior Trail" going SouthWest and then using the "Correction Line Trail" heading East, then finally heading North on the "North Mirror Lake Trail" finishing back at the trail head. Just my two cents!

I'm in...like the idea of some hiking...and Father's Day works for me, too...
