Assuming our evergreen tarps are the same color (who knows if they're the same material and what effect that might have... or even lot to lot), I think this one looks like a truer representation of the actual color of the tarp than the other one with the red gravity filter in the frame.

Looks like a nice place to spend a night, too.

Thanks for posting these, cmc4free and OneClick! Those are some nice tarps. I think I'll go with the evergreen.

    Good deal!

To summarize, lighting thru 1 layer - green/changes color. From the front (2 layers) more of an olive. I over-analyze everything.

    And more from another thread:

    Warbonnet tarp color possible inconsistency?

I've been puzzled by the reproduction of the colors of tarps and hammocks and I did a little research. Unfortunately I've not found anything definitive, and I may be wrong, but it seems that UV light and the camera sensors don't play as nicely as they should. My olive green tarp almost always looks brown in pictures.

This article does a fair job of explaining it, if anyone is interested.

Not to hijack but does anyone have a pic of the fern green? I'm about to get a RR and can't decide between fern green and olive green..

My XLC is fern green, but I don't know if I have any pics of it. I'll take a look.

Looks like nothing too useful. A tiny bit of it in the background of a photo focused on something else. This is a pretty good approximation of the color. More importantly, I'd pick the Dreamtex hands down over the regular nylon for comfort.

100%. I haven't slept in my new Dreamtex RR yet, but laying in it a couple of times it just has a bit more texture and just slightly more "stretch"... it's very comfortable.
