    Pea pod ideas

    Been lurking, ready to post,
I picked up an 82x86 Rumpl down comforter. In warmer months I’m thinking I can have the versatility of fashioning this into a pea pod instead of carrying my down bag and under quilt and still use it as a comforter when necessary. Has anyone done one?
Thinking snaps up one side but haven’t reconciled a sewn, snap or zipper foot box or if I install a draw string then a foot box might not be necessary.
    Ideas welcome.

I have a Speer PeaPod, and have added some sew on snaps. The sew on snaps are easy to attach with the button setting of my sewing machine. But are also easy to hand sew. They are available from all the craft stores. I greatly prefer snaps to Velcro because Velcro gets misaligned easily, and the snaps are easy to feel in the dark.

I use a pod for sub-0º Winter camping.
It is a WM 20 Alpinlite sleeping bag with a couple easy mods. I supplement it to reach lower and lower temps. Have taken it to -40ºF.
Have fun making and using yours.

Love your videos Shug. Learned A LOT. My camping is off a motorcycle so I’ll never see the south side of 32degrees. This concept is actually for fair weather nights traveling light. Wondering of anyone has made one. Some issues pop up like how to resolve the top of the thing when I want to be able to throw off the top cover but if it’s not snapped all the way around the underside will drop to the ground. I suppose I could snap it to the hammock or make a grosgrain loop. Curious if anyone has had success with something I haven’t thought of.
