DL Ridgerunner inside a 12ft Hot tent

Rumour has it that there is a mod that allows a Ridgerunner to be hung inside a 12ft opening......but I'm yet to find it anywhere.... anyone?

It will hang in 12ft 9inches, if the cinch buckles are off.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

I imagine you could shorten the dogbones between the spreader bars and the apex at the risk of making it super tippy.

Technically- if you don't mind it being super saggy in the center you can hang it as short as you'd like.

As far as redoing the suspension (beyond simply removing the buckles)... I wouldn't mess with that at all if you weigh more than 200lbs.
Changing the geometry of the suspension increases the force on the spreader bars.

It also changes the balance of the bridge; that means everything from altering the structural balance, the lay inline as well as side to side.

Beyond simply saying- don't do it...
The best I could helpfully suggest would be to upgrade to .75" Easton Aluminum poles to help compensate at the head end.

IF you splice- you could try reducing the dogbone sizes gradually and see how she rides.
If you happen to be fairly light (under 175bs) then there is some more wiggle room... but as you are closer to 200 and up this is riskier.

Otherwise- a hot tent with a 13' RL is probably easier to get going than reinventing the wheel.
Many RR users I encounter have bumped up the tarp size and that size tarp is even becoming a more commonly available piece of gear.
