Hello, finally, from Middle TN

Hey y'all, this is Byrd in Middle TN. I've been around these forms for years. I finally made an account last year, but because of a change in job and buying a home never got around to introducing myself. I owe a lot of the knowledge I have now to the information y'all have provided, so thank you all for that! I also owe a good deal of my knowledge to watching Shug's videos.

My wife and I live in Murfreesboro, TN, and I have been backpacking and hammock camping for years now. I've spent some time doing section hikes on the AT whenever I could make time for at least a few days, especially the Grayson Highlands. I'm going to have to see a whole lot less of the AT because my wife and I are expecting our first child in April! Consequently, I'll be spending more of my time at Savage Gulf and the other parks close to us here in TN. Hopefully I'll get to learn more by being a little more active on here, and also to meet some of you out on the trail or on a group hang!

Welcome from another newbie! You are truly lucky to live in TN, I make my way up there nearly every chance that I get to go to Windrock and do a little riding. My girlfriend and I are always fantasizing about moving to the mountains one day.

Thanks for making your intro. I've spent the last two years hammocking on the Fiery Gizzard. This year, starting the week after Thanksgiving and then again around Christmas time I am headed up to the Savage Gulf area. If the weather is decent this weekend I am going up the the East side of the Gulf to scout around a couple of the campgrounds to find out which sites are best suited for a hammock.
