    Robin egg blue gear hammock

I ordered this gear hammock last year, with the zipper, in robin egg blue silpoly fabric (custom fabric). The construction is flawless, and I love the color. I was so happy Jared let me pick a custom fabric.

I've been meaning to post some pictures I took while using it last spring. I messed around quite a bit with how exactly to hang it with my gathered end, and now that I've moved to using my Ridgerunner again, I'll have to do some more thinking! Anyone have a favorite position for hanging their gear hammock? (above, next to, below the hammock?)

It certainly stands out. Won't accidentally land in it in the dark.

My wife recently got her Winter Haven in robin egg blue and she loves the color. Your gear bag looks nice.

Thanks, I really like the robin egg blue color. Now I'm wondering whether Jared would make me a robin egg blue catch-all sack...

Nice.. love the color. I have Goose Feet Gear down booties that color...

I have a gear loft like that but never used it. Does it not annoy you hanging down next to you??
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

I'm a young woman and have never seen Viagra in person, but I googled it and Viagra looks like a fairly different shade of blue actually. If you've ever seen an actual robin's egg, that's the color.

There was one position I had it in where it was pressing on the side of the hammock and annoying me. I tried it in several positions. The orange gear hammock that you can see in the pictures, which was a pack cover, was actually way more annoying since it basically hung right into my hammock. That one has been retired!

How do you like the Goose Feet Gear down booties? I'd like to get down booties at some point (might not fit them into the budget until next winter though), and I've been looking at both the Goose Feet Gear and the Feathered Friends ones. Do you have the overbooties as well?

I don't have the over booties.. yet. Don't think I'll get them. While I see the value in being able to leave the booties on and slip into the over booties, I don't expect to use them too often. I don't get up much in the middle of the night so for those time I do wear the down socks, I would remove them if I need to take a midnight excursion.

They are made well. In my limited tests, they are crazy warm. Not sure if I use them often to warrant keeping them. If I decide to sell them, I'll reach out to you.. the color is perfect for your kit!
