Almost any of the Arkansas hiking trails are a shorter drive for me than those up nearer St Louis that we’ve hit the past two years, but I don’t mind driving a ways to get to where ever we end up choosing.

Hey guys, brand new to the forum. Fairly new to hammock camping. I'd love to go to one of these hangs. Seen several videos on the tube about them, looks super fun. I'm located in SEMO and I'm free the weekend in question so I'm definately down to go if you guys will have me.
Thanks!
Thanks alot for the warm welcome! Doubt I would be able to make it to Arkansas but that doesn't mean you guys shouldn't go out there. I can always shoot for the 2021 hang.
I’m fine with any where, but I agree with Gideon, any other suggestions? The good thing about the Mark Twain National Forest area where we’ve had it the last two years is that that gets me out discovering trails I’d normally not be seeing! Arkansas/Missouri...doesn’t matter to me. So far, I haven’t heard anyone but br@nch suggest a location. Are there any other suggestions? If Butterfield is too far, throw out some other suggestions.
Has anyone checked out Bell Mountain Loop Trail? Just out of curiousity. It looks pretty cool. It's more towards south central Missouri. Just a thought.
In the past we've had people drive from Kansas City and even Kentucky to attend one of the group hangs. I'm willing to go wherever y'all decide. Butterfield is fine with me... I've never been there and like Dublinlin said, it's always nice to experience a new place!
Tmy562, welcome to the group! We've had the annual frozen butt hang at Bell Mountain twice in the last few years so it's definitely on the list of good ideas for a destination. You can probably find an old trip report and pictures in the hammockforums archives if you are interested. Also, I live about 2 hours west of Cape and if the hang ends up being at Butterfield we could ride together from here if that would make it easier for you to join us.
