In Indiana I saw a bunch of something flying high overhead. Can't really see them but does anyone know what these are? Didn't sound like the usual geese...or do they make different kinds of sounds?

Nice winter action already! Heading back up next weekend for more.
It's ironic how the most prevalent problem in winter is overheating! Must vent/peel at the first sign of warmth.

Those are Sandhill Cranes. We have hundreds of them around us right now. I saw a flock in a field on my way to work this morning.

Yep. Sandhill cranes are migrating. I love hearing them and trying to find where they are...which is usually way higher up than you expect. They are loud buggers.
