Was there any specific reason to use the shock cord prussik over the soft shackle prussik outside of cost reduction? I'm having trouble keeping the shock cord tight so thinking of changing over to the soft shackles.
Is this on the tie-outs? Some people (I guess Dutch included), like Shock Cord Tarp Tensioners as shown in this sticky:

I suppose the argument is that when silnylon gets wet it can lose some tension, which the shock cord is supposed to take up. Personally, I have no use for shock cord tensioners, especially on silpoly or cuben fiber. I also don't care for them on silnylon tarps either. However, there are some people like Shug that like them, even on cuben fiber, which has no stretch.

SilvrSurfr, this is referring to the internal Ridgeline that holds the pole mod in place using a shock cord prussik. Sorry for not he my clear on that.

I like the idea of having internal ridge line on the tarp for prussiking the internal pole mods to, and to hang lights, etc. Well done, Dutch!
Cost reduction was certainly was a factor. However I did feel the rubbery texture of the shock cord along with enough wraps really works well. For the soft shackle to be able to open up is nice and that was the main attraction for that one. In the end, I will probably add is as an option if enough people want it.

Thanks for the reply Dutch! I put in an order yesterday for shackles and a few other items I "needed". I'll try putting an extra couple of turns in the shock cord to see if that helps, but like you said, the ability to open up the soft shackle is hard to ignore. I always appreciate having options as a consumer.
Any chance of a Christmas sale on these new wide tarps?
Dave
