I've been trying to move to that area for some time now, but hasn't happened. I hope you can get a group started, and, if so; I will try to plan a job/land scouting trip around one of your hangs. Good luck and happy hanging!
Oooh, shiney! What does THIS button do?

I'm a: " There is no such thing as bad weather..... Just the wrong gear! " kinda hammocker/outdoorsman. I'm really looking forward to my first snowy packrafting trip this year!

The best time line I can do is Late Feb. Puppy will be old enough to leave in the house and not to much of a pain for the wife to look after.

Agree on the gear....I am going to setup this weekend on my deck...we are supposed to have 3 days of snow next week....25 degrees at the low.

I'm supposed to get that same system coming my way with 3 days of snow on the forecast as well!

Shasta would be cool! I'm certainly a 3 season guy at the moment. What kinda gear would be needed for a Cali snow camp in shasta. I assume it wouldn't get crazy cold, but certainly there would be snow on the ground ya? Zero degree equipment?

You will definitely want an under quilt. Synthetic or down, either will suffice it just depends on the amount of weight you want to carry. I'm a cold sleeper so I always take extra layers. A tarp to keep any weather and wind off you. Other than that..... a great attitude lol!

hammock1.jpg I hammock on my deck during the winter storms....it's not bad....looking to get a top quilt as another layer soon....I have been reading about Costco's quilt throw ( 20.00 ). I have a 20 degree UQ, a 10 degree bag and a thermal pad.

Sunny Bear....you have a location in Shasta to hang?

Costco is an amazing resource for cheap down! You can DIY some awesome gear with their materials!

Kormi- I don't have a particular spot in mind. We could hang somewhere on the mountain or at the lake. Generally I hike up the mountain. I'm game for whatever spot is most conducive for you.
