I had a bad experience with a bunch of drunks in the Green Mountains myself last year. (Not a trip related to HF)
Odd. We were shamed out of the Spruce Peak cabin in the Greens by some folks for simply possessing a small amount of whiskey. Let's just say they didn't sleep that night. Bruins won, though.

We are getting too far off topic but you'd know if you had an encounter with me. I usually treat people the way I want to be treated. As far as alcohol on a campout goes, it's great for my alcohol stove but just like on a mission too dangerous to consume. Setting up my hammock in a forrest after a long day of hiking is rewarding but it is not my home and I like to have full control of all of my senses. Happy hiking and hammocking!
