    Talking Entry level bugnet hammocks?

I've been hammocking for about 5 years now.
My first hammock was a Grand Trunk single.
I upgraded after about a year to an 11' Dutchware netless. After another year or so, I made my own Fronkey style net, been using that for the last 3 years.
I think I am ready to upgrade to an integrated bugnet system. It just seems like it would be so much easier and lighter.
    My budget would be <$150.
I've had my eye on the Hammock Gear Zippered Bug Net hammock, as well as the Dream Hammock Raven.
I like to "flip-flop" in my lay, so I am not sure an asymmetrical option like the Blackbird would really work for me.
The basic Chameleon, with the symmetrical net option is just a bit out of my price range, and that's before any of the optional add-ons. I dont see myself ever really wanting a top cover either.
    I am a bigger guy, 6', ~260lbs.
I like to backpack, so lightweight gear is a consideration.
I'd also like to be able to remove the net for hassle-free lounging, either completely, or stow it like the HG hammock does.
Looking for feedback from those in the know that have experience with the hammocks that I've mentioned, or know about other options within my price range.
I get that I could save my pennies and eventually get a Chameleon or a Dream Hammock with all the bells and whistles, but:
    1. I am very impatient and I'm kind of tired of the hassle of the bottom entry bugnet, and the 1/2 lb of extra weight that comes with it.
    2. My spouse, though mostly tolerant of my little hobbies, would have a really hard time understanding why I needed to spend $200+ on a hammock. Happy wife, happy life 😁😁😁

Any thoughts, insight and feedback would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Check out SLD. You can get a trail lair with ridgeline and 11' for right around your budget.

I don't own any of his products, but have never heard anything but positive testimony.

Hammock gear is always a good option. Some of the best products around IMO.

The raven looks very cool and I want to try one someday. Dream Hammock seems to be some of the finest craftsmanship out there.

You can't go wrong with any of them. Maybe try convincing the spouse to have a good night of rest in a hammock and she may appreciate the price tag a little more. Having done many DIY projects, I can tell you that the prices the cottage vendors charge are very reasonable.

HammockGear now makes a netted hammock. I have been using one for the past 6 months and after several outings fidgeting with it, find it growing on me.

Have you thought of maybe trying to make your own DIY hammock?

Also check out Walhalla hammocks and Trailheadz hammocks! Both great quality gear, and small companies!

Half pound of extra weight that comes with it? You might want to look at that again, because there is hardly any difference in weight between a Dutch Chameleon w/bugnet and a Dutch Netless hammock with Fronkey bugnet. In fact, the Chameleon with asym bugnet weighs more.

    Dutch Netless Hexon 1.6 334.98
    Dutch Fronkey Bugnet 230
    Grams total 564.98
    Ounces total 20.177

    Dutch Chameleon 434.2
    Asym Bugnet 144
    Grams total 578.2
    Ounces total 20.65

I use Dutch Netless hammocks with Fronkey bugnets, and I also have a Chameleon. Since I truly hate zippers (too hard to exit quickly, plus they fail), I'll take the Dutch Netless with Fronkey bugnet every time. Unfortunately, my beagle Joey can't sleep in the Dutch Netless - he looks out over the edge of the hammock, sees the ground and spends the entire night scheming on how to escape from me. With the Chameleon, Joey sees the zippered bugnet and just goes to sleep since he can't figure out how to escape.

The Dutchware Halfzipped might work for you as well. It's made with a symmetrical bug net so you can flip your lay. You can also unzip the bugnet and tie it off to the side with toggles.

I haven't checked the prices lately but the Warbonnet Eldorado is flippable (head right feet left or head left feet right) and comes with a bug net. It's basically the same thing as a Blackbird XLC but without the shelf which makes it flippable. If it's too pricey right now, you might get a break if there is a Black Friday sale

I just checked. An Eldorado with bug net and no suspension can be had for $125.
