What would be the benefit of the amsteel over just larks heading the webbing loops together? Is there a benefit to using amsteel, if there is why not use a soft shackle instead, then you can remove it and no need to lark it.

I think I like this idea though, having a modular hugger set up that can adapt to any tree.

Yeah, a soft shackle would probably be the best. They would allow the webbing to lay nice and flat the whole way through. I just haven’t used soft shackles before to fully know their applications. Downside would be they might fall off a little easier.

Here were my reasons that came to mind for not larking the 2” webbing loops directly together; which may be unfounded:

-might be difficult to undo the lark after it’s been weighted for a while.
-might end up closing up the webbing loop so much that it becomes a nuisance to thread through. I suppose you could make the webbing loops oversized to compensate.
-might create a big bump that might eat into the tree more.

    2" wide suspension ideas.

Just another idea to throw into the mix. Kammok does something interesting to achieve a similar goal.
