Gluttony No. 6 - Tales from the 2019 Hang

I know it's kind of early to post a trip report of a group hang when it's barely started, but I'm at home waiting for my ride to head north and figured I might as well get something in place. So, post your pics and stories here.

A few of the lucky ones jumped the gun and rolled in Wednesday night to start getting basecamp setup and started the campfire, which won't go out until Sunday. I know it's a tease, but here's a few pics they sent last night. Stay tuned....

And food! Some of the gluttonous treats included grilled cheese breakfast sandwiches with BACON Sausage, ribs, bacon wrapped pork loin, bacon topped cinnamon rolls and lots of other food that tested the capacity of the two porta potties.

At a peak, we had 26 or so campers plus a few visitors and 4 dogs. Right now (Saturday night at 10pm) the rain has moved in and everyone has retired to their preferred shelters. Good times for all and I know there will be more posts to follow!

All in all, we had a pretty nice weekend in camp. The rain held off till Saturday night around 10, which motivated everyone to retire to their hammocks or tents. We had lots of hot tents this time, plus a couple of new hangers that are just getting into it. It was great seeing new faces and some familiar ones.

One of our "newbs" from last year, Cody, talked of doing the AT at the 2018 hang, ended up doing it in 2019 and just got home a couple weeks ago. Congrats to him and we wish him the best since he announced he's going into the Navy in the spring. Thank you for your service, Cody!

Here's some more pics of the various setups and more people around camp.

    Excellent Trip!!

    Some stats from Thur-Sun:

20 people Thursday night. 26 people Friday night. 33 people attending Saturday, roughly 26 Saturday night. 5 dogs total, all survived the many people walking all over camp.

I'll post a few photos when I get more organized and totally un-packed later today/tomorrow.

Kudos to Ed (camp site manager) and Dave (online coordinator) for putting on an exceptional long weekend of great camping experiences and serious gastronomic gluttony!!
