Hello from Northern Virginia

I've been hiking and camping most of my life, but I just purchased my first hammock after doing a lot of research and reading on this site. For the past four years, I've been section hiking the AT, and the lack of level ground suitable for tent camping has led me to try a hammock. I've had lower back troubles for most of my adult life, so I always shied away from the idea of sleeping in a hammock, but after hiking with one last week I'm sold, and I may never go back to a tent!

Welcome to the forums. Yes, these hammocks are a lifesaver for those of us who have back issues. I had back surgery 30 years ago in my 20's and the hammock has allowed me to get back out and backpack again.
