    Linville Gorge

Going to be camping in Linville Gorge the weekend of 25-27 Oct 2019 around the Table Rock area. Does anyone know if there is a good place to put tents and hammocks around the parking area? We plan to summit Table Rock before susnset to do some timelapses and astro photography an nightfall and then be able to walk down to a good place to camp near by. Is anybody else going to be in the area that weekend?
    Thanks guys

Yes...there is camping right by the Table Rock parking lot. Plenty of trees too.

Try pinnacle rock on the other side of the Gorge. Not nearly as overrun as the Table Rock area.

Not able to help, but wanted to note was just there this weekend for the first time. Got back about an hour ago. Rained like mad all last night but stayed dry and comfy in my hammock and $4.89 amazon ProVenture hammock tarp. 3rd year and still going strong.

We went in at Wolf Pit and hiked to the chimneys just south of table rock. NC got some but kickin' hills. Was remembering Shug's Hickory Bro's videos from a year or so ago and had to get some NC BBQ. Man was that good.

There are a ton of spots at the Table Rock campground. It is always crowded, though, so you will want to get there early. The parking lot will be full as leaf season will be at it's peak. I was up on the parkway last weekend and it was ridiculously crowded. Instead of Table Rock, you could also go the other way from the parking / camping area and get your shots from the chimneys. A lot of places with clear views of the sky. Just a thought.
