So dear wife does not hammock camp. Actually, does not camp much but I am trying to change that. Thinking of getting a standing room tent with excellent ratings on keeping occupants warm, dry and happy. Found Kodiak's line of spring bar canvas tents. Not cheap, not light but more flexible than any type of RV. And the ratings are rather impressive.

Anyways, the 10'x10' model would have a 14' diagonal. And heck, the 10' by 14' model is 14' feet wide! Aside from thinking about glamping with wife complete with indoor furniture, air mattress, etc. I thought "holy cow! This BEAST would be the mother of all winter tarps for hammock car camping". Set up Derek Hansen's portable pipe stand and you're good to go...

Anyone else erect a hammock & stand inside a tent?

PS still into the light weight backpacking thing, just seeing a fringe benefit for gear purchased to accommodate wife.
