Underquilt Protector For Warbonnet Wooki, XLC

Hi, I read some discussion that the warbonnet XLC underquilt protector needs to zip onto the bug net.
Would prefer something that just hangs below (for a simpler setup) if possible.
Could anyone speak on their experience with this?
Am thinking of putting in an order for a Wooki to ship to New Zealand and an UQP seems like an important extra.
    Thanks.

It can zip onto the bugnet or winter cover. Doing that leaves the hammock itself and the Wooki free-floating within the cocoon/sock formed by the net/cover and UQP. It also means the shelf is no longer physically attached to the hammock, and the footbox structure in the hammock formed by the net is lost.

The UQP also has ribbon ties at each end that allow you to just tie off to the hammock ends, where you would hang your Wooki. Sounds like this is what you'd prefer to do.

The 3rd option is to add the extra zipper track to the UQP, which allows it to zip to the hammock AND the bugnet. This leaves the footbox structure of the hammock intact and keeps the shelf attached to the hammock as well. This is the least simple option for setup.

It can be zipped to the bugnet but does not have to be. Sorta depends on how you want to set up.
You can see it in my video below at 17:12 in.

The zipper adds a significant amount of weight.

As an alternative, 2QZQ sells an underquilt protector for the Blackbird XLC + Wooki that is just fabric.

If you never use the zipper, it wouldn’t make much sense to get Warbonnet one. Get the 2QZQ UQP. Never seen or used one, but I see it getting praised and recommended frequently here on the forum.

    That's over $60 cheaper too.

I can see from the video that it is fine hanging loose unattached.
    Helpful comments too.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the photo. How much of the length of the hammock is covered with that UQP?
