Hi Folks,
The entrance to this part of the scout camp is actually right off of Rt. 143. And it is in the town of Chesterfield. If you were coming from Williamsburg center and going up 143 toward Chesterfield center, the entrance is actually on the right hand side of the road, just past the Town Garage and it is a little dirt road with an iron gate you might miss even in the daylight, there is barely a sign I think maybe a Boy Scout fleur de lis. If you get to Sugar Hill Rd you went too far. I hope this helps. Cell service is spotty at best and non existent for the most part. Maybe we can put some kind of marker there for folks to see.
Thank you, I would have gone too far.
I’m familiar with the town garage and I think I remember the dirt road. I went through Chesterfield last Fall but haven’t worked there in several years. Nice to see that the country store is open again.

Sorry, can't make my first HF gathering, have work obligation plus Mrs. Knish heard about my 3 weekend in a row trips and gave me that Mr. Spock eyebrow look, hmmmm? But I promise to get out there some other time with those warm knishes. I'll try to delete my name off that group list now. thanks, health and happiness to all.
PS, I'm waiting for my UGQ 0F Zeppelin to arrive in a few weeks. I've been trying different types of hammocks and its still not an easy sleep. Makes me wonder if this type of camping isn't for me?
But I'll continue to try.
I, too, will be a ground dweller this trip, unless the weather moderates. Then I will probably hang in my Dream Hammock, or maybe one of my Warbonnets, perhaps the XLC.
If it is cold, and bothering me, I will be in the teepee hot tent with the GStove, which I plan to set-up anyway. Anyone who needs a warm-up is invited to catch some heat inside!
Also want to sleep in my USGI MMS just for old-times sake!
And as soon as you pass the town facility on the right, slow down and look for an innocuous dirt road on the right! Follow it in - you'll get there!
Looking forward to seeing everyone again, and embracing the crazy!

Guys here is a picture that might help as to the location of everything. At the moment we are possibly looking at warm temperatures (darn it) but the will be snow on the ground. “Possible 6-9” of fresh fallen snow. However everything is covered already. I will get up there this week and make sure we have plenty of parking spaces available.
As to the map you are looking for the Entrance site right off of route 143. It’s about 100 yards from the blue town garage and a big yellow plow sitting out by the road.
