I started with a dangerbird and then went with a sparrow and like the sparrow better. I have the bugnet and overcover with both and I like the option of leaving the one I don't need at home, you can't do that with the dangerbird. I'm 5' and I use a 11' never tired a 10' but I may one of these days

Datboijon, this might be a great opportunity. Depends on where you live in TX and if you are available in 4 weeks. A great group of folks and a very fun group hang. Also, it is attended by Dream Hammock. They display many different models that you can try out.

You got plenty of good advice. I will add, if you try and don't like it the resale value on here is usually pretty good on cottage vendors like Dream Hammock.

You could always get something like the 11' Dutchware $30 netless and choose a suspension that makes sense for you to spend some indoor or backyard nights to try the whole thing out. If the hang bug sinks in you will already have a suspension and a cheap, quality made spare hammock to go along with whatever fully-loaded DH you end up choosing.

One suggestion would be to add a structural ridge line to your current hammock. That would most likely greatly increase your comfort level. Also, I use Sawyer permethrin here in Oklahoma in the summer with a netted hammock and I have never had problems with mosquitoes.
