    Ridgerunner sock & pad

Can anyone speak to the temp rating in a ridgerunner with pad and winter sock? I have a 0 and 20 degree underquilt and I am camping this weekend with a low of 40. I'm thinking I should be good without the underquilt. Thoughts?

Is there some reason you don't want to use your UQs? Anyway, depending on the thickness of the pad, you should be good for about whatever temp you need to sleep in. Even without a sock. Pads are pretty much wind and water proof already. A sock might help some more, but not near as much as it would with an UQ. Though it might still help with the TQ, depending on tarp used.

I'm confused. Doesn't your 20° quilt weight a lot less than a pad and sock? The 20° should be fine in 40° temps.

Not too sure about the pad. I use a Lynx with a sock. We frequently hang in Rain Forest conditions, I keep both doors on my sock open a little or most of the way open to prevent humidity issues. I use the same UQ year around I just vent and add or subtract sleep wear.

I am not a pad person (in my RR) I doubt I would ever use a UQ plus pad but that is just my idea on comfort.

I am just guessing but I think you will have humidity issues.
